Comprehensiveness

On this resource, the following formatting is used for comprehensiveness:

  • Minimal depth
  • (Moderate depth)
  • ((Comprehensive))

Gross processing

Also evaluate as per potential lymphoma if there is a request for that in the referral, or other suspicion of it.

If there is a suspicion of other cancer, ink the external surfaces before sectioning.

Example gross report
((A. Labeled - ___. The specimen is received in formalin and consists of)) one rubbery, ovoid, pink-tan tonsil(s) measuring ____. The mucosal surfaces are unremarkable.
